Moving to, living in, and dealing with life in a new country... this is a blog for old friends, new friends, and strangers who feel like checking in once in a while to see what I'm up to down here in Belize.
My blog got it's first donation today... I just wanted to say THANK YOU, publicly, to Mark in Maryland for being so supportive and sending some cash my way to spend while Kathy is down here.
(Yes, that's what it's for - he told me!)
Carrie - Are you going to San Ignacio on your whirlwind tour? If you do and have time (and this is in no way connected to my gift to you!) will you do a bit of recon for me? There is a yurt style home (I know!) in either San Ignacio or Santa Elena that is for sale. I think it will be perfect for a Learning Center (temp abode then LC - I want to teach women to sew and Square Foot Gardening) and I'd just like someone to take a closer look at it. You know, just make sure the roof isn't caved in or there aren't squatters living in it. It looks like it's going to be spring before I get down there. :(
So, if you go and have time, take a peek, please.
And, be careful when going to AC - all this craziness with John McAfee has the island crawling with International press! Just be sure to smile and wave to the cameras!
Hey Joyce! Can you send me a link or something to look at to see if I can figure out where it is? We'll be getting into Cayo after dark one day next week and then we're going to do Xunantunich early the next morning, if it's easy enough to get to we could stop to check it out before we catch a bus out to Placencia!
Carrie - here's a link to a website that has some of the yurt information. I do think I have an email that has a pinpoint on a google earth picture, but doesn't really have the coordinates so I wasn't able to enlarge it or get close, but it might be of help to you. If you think you'd like to have that let me know.
Otherwise, here's the website link: http://www.belizedestinations.com/yurt/index.html
Thanks again, Joyce PS Have a great visit with your BFF!
Good for You :)
