I haven't heard THAT sound in a while...

Ahhh... the buzzing of a tattoo machine. That sound can instantly make me think of ten designs I'd like permanently inked on my body.
It's been at least two years since I've had any work added, and I'm itching for a new one!

Today isn't my day, however. I just get to watch and take some pictures while Trip works on fixing up one of Jaime's old tattoos and gets his tattoo groove back. (He seemed to ease right back into it, just for the record)

Trip's makeshift work space - complete with shrunken head from Borneo and Hotei statue

"Hotei 布袋. Male. The god of contentment and happiness, guardian of children, and patron of bartenders." If you know Trip, you know why that's fitting.

Jaime's tattoo - you can see what Trip re-outlined before I took the picture

the man at work - his tongue is probably sticking out a little, as it usually does when he's concentrating

work in progress

We're losing sunlight now, so they're finishing up for the day.
I'll post a picture of it when it's finished... and of course, pictures of my next one.....

If you have any tattoo pics to share, send me an email and I'll put a post together - either tattoos inspired by Belize or collected in Belize would be cool. Make sure to tell me who your artist is!

  1. You should see my arm. Full sleeve of Belize-related things done by Jason, the manager of my shop. I imagine you'll get to see it if I come by and visit this winter.

  2. Ok, that does it. Catdance has a selection of tattoos. My ex husband has a tattoo (and he threatened to cut off our son's tattoo). I think I'm going to have to get one. Is 59 too old to get a first tattoo?

  3. The oldest person I ever tattooed was an 86 year old man. It ws his first one! I have tattooed many people in their 70s and 80s, no joke! I tattooed an 84 year old nudist lady, her first tattoo! (no, she was not naked in my shop!)
