Moving to, living in, and dealing with life in a new country... this is a blog for old friends, new friends, and strangers who feel like checking in once in a while to see what I'm up to down here in Belize.

Another Lesson Learned
When riding a bike with no front brakes and back brakes that aren't tight enough, don't go flying down the bridge and onto a road filled with potholes - you'll scare the crap out of tourists that think you're going to crash into them as they go for a leisurely stroll, and you'll scrape up your toes when you try to slow down...
From now on.... I'll walk the bike down.

YIKES, YOWZA, OOOEY, OUCH! Hope your tootsies are ok.
ReplyDeletethanks Maureen!
DeleteDoes anyone call you "Mo?"
I call my aunt Maureen Mo.
Ouch! I suggest you get your brakes serviced at El Guapo, just south of the bridge. It's not safe at all not having good brakes. I can't tell you the number of times someone has pulled out in front of my bike without looking (pedestrian, cyclist, golf cart, or taxi), and I've had to brake HARD and FAST. Please get those brakes serviced!
ReplyDeleteEl Guapo.... Thanks Emily, I have to back up to Reef Village today, maybe I'll try to find it.
DeleteI've noticed that I need a bell, too...
